Raenee’s father had many relationships; he had 12 children with many children, and during his marriage to his second wife, he engaged in many extramarital affairs, and this fueled their separation. Even Reanee was a result of an affair Ray had with one of the dancers, Mae Mosely Lyles.
Personal Life
Raenee Robinson has mostly lived away from the spotlight. Despite her father being one of the most iconic musicians in history, Raenee chose to live a life away from the limelight. Little about her is known; she might be married and have grown-up kids, but this information is not on the internet.
Her Father’s Music Career
Raenee’s father did not have it easy when starting his music career. At the age of 14, after his mother and brother died, Ray decided that he would not go back to school. As such, he moved to Jacksonville to look for job opportunities. At Jacksonville, Raenee’s father played the piano for various bands, and he was paid 4 dollars a night. At first, he did not know how to play the piano, but he joined Local 632, and he was able to learn how to play the piano.
After some time, Raenee’s father became one of the most talented musicians in Jacksonville. Given that he was all by himself, Ray wanted jobs with immediate pay, but they did not come easily. As such, Raenee’s father decided to move to Orlando, Florida, to look for other opportunities. While in Orlando, things were tough for him; he lived in abject poverty, and he could go without food for several days. He kept moving, looking for jobs as a pianist.
Raenee’s father had a rough ride in the 194s, but things began streamlining in the 1950s after landing a record deal with Atlantic Records. He went on to have a great career. After his contract with Atlantic Records ended in 1959, Raenee’s father received offers from several record labels. He chose to sign with ABC-Paramount, and he was taking home over 50,000 dollars and other royalties. Ray had a great career, but his commercial success began declining in the late 1970s. However, he was still active up to the time of his death.
Her Father Struggled with Drug Addiction
Raenee’s father struggled with drug abuse, among other issues. He began using drugs when he was 18; he tried marijuana for the first time when he was eighteen. Ray thought that marijuana helped artists, particularly in the creativity aspect.
Besides marijuana, Raenee’s father also abused heroin, which he later became addicted to. He struggled with heroin addiction for years, and as he became famous, his drug addiction became worse. He had access to more money, and as such, it was easy for him to get anything he wanted.
